Black and white Holgas from a stroll on Maroma Beach – on a very sunny day.

First off – this is hands down one of the best beaches that I have ever seen.  The pillowy white sand was so soft, and the water was a clear ice blue.  Absolutely stunning.

Second – our visit was at the height of the Swine Flu epidemic and most people cancelled their trips.  But not K and I – figured we lived in NYC so we’d most likely been exposed to the flu with whatever else we’re exposed to in the subways.

I took a walk along the beach on an incredibly sunny day and shot these B&W Holgas – several of the shots burned out because of the bright sunlight but I managed to capture some good images here.

The beach was eerily empty.  Part of it was the swine flu – our resort, which would normally be packed, was under 25% capacity.  They consolidated all the quests by upgrading everyone to the premier rooms and then shut down the other buildings to save on electricity.  It was a little sad, but we had an amazing room upgrade.

I think the stretch of the beach I was walking on would normally be on the thinner side of things crowd wise as our hotel was at the end of the stretch of resorts on Moroma Beach – after that it was just jungle.

I think the black and white images really captures the emptiness of my walk.[/ultimate_modal]
